Young Learners are students of English aged from just a few years old to about 16 or so. There is no definite age cut off here but the next informal group is adult. Some teachers look at Young Learners as aged up to about 12 or so before teenagers, however.

There is a specialized branch of teaching known as TEYL‏‎ or Teaching English to Young Learners.
